Include icon alongside link

Media embedded in an entry after an import or drag include an identifying icon, usually the document icon visible in the Finder.

Imported resources are selected by default

You may specify a default resource for an entry, which means anytime the entry is selected, the entry's text is skipped and the associated media is immediately displayed. Check this option to enable that behavior by default for newly imported documents.

Imported URL drags produce web archives

URLs dragged to the drop box, dock icon or provided by the services item are converted to locally stored web archives instead of treated as urls.

Viewing media (tab, window or external editor)

Determines how Journler reacts when you click on a media link that has been embedded in the text of an entry. Selecting media from the resource pane displays it in the selected tab unless you use a keyboard modifier.

Automatically open folders in the Finder

Links to folders are opened in the Finder instead of loaded in the selected tab.

Automatically execute applications and scripts

Links to applications and AppleScripts execute the program or script when selected instead of loading information about the file.

Search newly added media by default

New media is added to Journler's search indexes. You may change this behavior on a per resource basis using the resource worktool near the bottom right of the main window.

Document Linking (alias to original or copy)

Determines how Journler reacts when you drag a file to an entry's contents. The cursor indicates the action that will be performed. Leaving the document where it is produces an alias to the original while copying the document brings it into your journal, where Journler takes over its management. See resource management for more information.

Folder Linking (alias to original or copy)

The same principle as above but applied to folders instead of individual files. It is normally recommended that you link folders instead of copying them to your journal.
